I just posted about our current living room and creating a cohesive open floorplan! Our living room is open to the rest of the main floor so we needed to keep it open , airy and coordinated. I really like how it is, but as usual, I have plans for this space! Mood board We …
As you might be able to tell from the house tour so far, the main floorplan is wide open. You can see each area from everywhere. We loved it when moved in and we still like it, but it’s added some challenges in terms of design. I’ve had to be really intentional and creative making …

I recently battled insects on this beautiful snake plant.
Easiest plant to grow, they said, and I still messed it up – oops. We went away for a few days and I mistakenly gave it too much water. I thought I’d have to get rid of the plant, but I fixed it! I got rid of those tiny fungus gnats in my house plant.
Continuing on in the house tour, is our powder room, which is just a few steps from our entry way. It isn’t exactly how I want it, but it’s a small improvement from what it was and helps me visualize what I’d like to do. The walls were a bright cornflower blue, just not my vibe, so I painted them Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. For a special touch, I painted the ceiling a light, airy blue (kind of like you see on vintage porches). The colour is Soar by Behr and it really creates an airy vibe in here.
So, we decided to tackle a built-in bench for the entryway. A simple, floating bench with a simple, upholstered seat on top. That way, it would add space for storage, and still accomplish the nice, airy feeling we were going for.
Next up is Leo’s nursery/big boy room. His is actually the smallest room in the house but he likes his cozy room, he says.
His nursery had a subtle woodland theme. It is a very light grey with a deep navy feature wall around the window. The paint colours are Gentleman’s Gray and Calm (50% strength) by Benjamin Moore. This room used to be our guest room and we painted it this way hoping it would be a nursery one day.
Hello! For our first post, I wanted to highlight what is one of my favourite rooms in our house! I dreamt about a floral, pretty but modern nursery space for our girl to grow up in. It’s actually the largest bedroom in our house, so it’s a bit multi-functional. It used to be our office, …
